  • Bats are the only mammal that can fly.

  • There are many different species of bat, especially in tropical locations.

  • For some tropical and subtropical plants, bats are the ONLY pollinator.

  • Bats are nocturnal which means that they are active at night.

  • Bats like to live in large colonies, sometimes in caves.

  • FUN FACT: Bats can’t stand upright which is why they hang upside down.
